The sun is finally shining and the promise of warmer temperatures is here. 
Tuning up that outboard motor this spring may be the right weekend project for
you.  US Boatworks has all the boat
parts need to tune up your motor.  Our top sellers are the Evinrude
Carb Kits - item #396701 to 439076.  If these aren't the part numbers you
need, we carry all Carburetor Kits for Mercury and Evinrude Outboard motors. 

Once you have your Carb Kit in hand, you will need some gear lube too. 
We stock an recommend genuine
Evinrude and Mercury
lube.  Other brands are inferior and will only cause you
trouble down the road.  It's worth the extra few bucks now to us genuine
manufacturer oil and save your motor from damage.  Popular part #s are
778749 HPF XR and0778755 HPF PRO.  These items are always in stock so feel
free to come by and stock up.

service in March or early April. Also remember, if you are a do it
yourselfer, we have all the
parts, lube and
genuine marine oil that you need to get your boat in tip top running
service.

don't see a lot of commercials.  This one sums it up for us boaters.

Gear up your boat before Memorial Day

Tips to gear up your boat engine for Memorial Day:

Getting your boat ready to take out for the Memorial Day weekend can be a
chore.  If you are a do-it-yourselfer, plan on spending some time getting
your boat and motor ready before you hit the lake.  A little time spent in
advance can make all the difference.  Preventative maintenance now could
keep you out on the water all summer long. 

In the early spring, I devoted several blogs to how to get your boat up and
running for the first time this season.  Since this is topic is so
important, it bears repeating.  If you are mechanically inclined, most of
these tasks should be no problem.  If you are not comfortable with tools
and getting your hands dirty, one of our trained mechanics would be happy to do

As the month of January just passed,
we look back at the highlights of the month.  With all the snow and chilly
temperatures this month, sales were slower than expected.  We did ship out
a number of Mercury lower units and
Evinrude lower units in January.  People are
taking advantage of the slow season and buying their boat parts now.  The
January boat shows in the Kansas City area draw some excitement and get
customers thinking about boating.  Most of the booths at the show are
showing the newest, expensive boats around.  What Kansas City based US
Boatworks offers is an economical way to get into boating.  If you already
own a boat that may need repairs, our service department is one of the most
respected in town.  Our shop hourly rate is lower than most and our parts
are reasonably priced. 

Now is a great time to get
used Mercury or
Evinrude motors too as the few we have in
stock wont last long.   If you are in the market for a new outboard

2010 Mercury Outboards are here

Today we received 3 new 2010 Mercury Outboard Motors.  We are getting
them out on the floor as I write this.  On hand we now have two 2010, 10
horse Mercury Outboards and one 15 horse Merc.  Still from 2009 we have 3
Evinrude motors as well.  In stock are a 2009, 50 horse ETEC, a 90 horse
ETEC and a 115 horse ETEC.  These Evinrude motors are priced to sell and
